5 Things to Do During the Swimming Pool Offseason

Are you patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for the swimming pool season to get back to full swing? Us, too! If you live for outdoor entertaining and lazy afternoons by the pool, waiting for the spring and summer months to fully enjoy your pool can seem like a daunting task. However, there are a few smart tasks you can take on now that will improve your pool for the warmer months ahead… and can help you pass the time until your first pool party of the year! We’re covering them below.

Complete your pool restoration

If you’ve always talked about restoring your pool (whether to make it bigger, better, more family friendly, etc.), now might be the best time to do it. By getting started on your restoration project now, you can rest easy knowing that your improved pool will be ready to go come the spring and summer months—which is exactly when you want to use your pool! If you plan on adding features to your pool, changing its shape, or overhauling its look altogether, get in touch with us to see how we can help.

Get smart about landscaping

As we have mentioned before, the landscaping around your pool can have a big impact on how clean or dirty your pool’s surface is throughout the year. During the swimming pool offseason, take some time to get smart about your landscaping: trim trees, for example, or switch out current plants for cleaner (less litter producing) ones.

Purchase new pool toys

You can help build excitement for the warmer months ahead by picking up a few new pool toys or other water gadgets now. Whether you opt for food-shaped floats or water games for your family, you will be able to stock up on everything you need for water fun ahead of time.

Rethink your storage

Think back to last summer—are there any aspects of your current pool toy/gear storage that you would like to change? Whether it’s an overstuffed toy closet or you are constantly missing goggles, floats and small toys, now is a fantastic time to rethink and redo your outdoor storage. Invest in new shelves, outdoor cubbies… whatever it takes to get your pool gear in order for the months ahead.

Consider heating your pool

Even though we’re heading into warmer months, it’s never a bad idea to consider heating your pool if you haven’t already. A heated pool can be more comfortable and enjoyable for you and your family, even during the warm summer months—plus, today’s automated systems mean you never have to overspend on heating your pool when it’s not in use.

Which of these activities will you be taking on during the next few months? Let us know if we can help you with your pool restoration project or any other tasks you may have on your list. We’re happy to help!
