Pool Restoration: Is it Right for Me?

Think back to your first experience with your backyard pool… maybe it was after weeks of construction and backyard chaos that you could finally dip your toes in and relax. Or maybe the pool came with the new house you’d just purchased, and your kids just couldn’t wait to jump in and enjoy! Your first pool memory is special and lasting—and if your pool today isn’t living up to its former glory, it’s running poorly or needs a gentle retouching, it might be time to fix it up or give it a redesign. We can help you with that.

We often hear from pool owners who are unhappy with their pool for one reason or another—maybe a problem with the plumbing, or worn out tile. These are problems that need fixing, but they don’t necessarily warrant a complete overhaul of your pool and surrounding backyard.

Don’t let yourself get overwhelmed. When you enlist our help on your pool restoration or repair project, we can help you with:

  • Functional fixes: Are you having trouble keeping your pool clean due to a faulty filter system, or your heater isn’t living up to the task anymore? If you’re having problems with the way your pool runs, this is probably one of the most crucial reasons to consider a renovation with us. While many possible changes to your pool are aesthetically-based—and, thus, can be put off or dealt with for a certain period of time—the ones that involve plumbing and machinery can affect the day-to-day enjoyment of your pool and its longevity, so you don’t want to wait. Small changes don’t have to be expensive or time-consuming, so be sure to call us for a consultation before writing off a possible solution.
  • Safety first: If you live in an older home, your pool may not be up to the same safety standards we follow so strictly today. While there’s no concrete set of rules that dictates how a pool must be built and with what materials, some practices and materials are certainly safer than others. Making the switch to slip-proof decking or our smooth pebble finishes to reduce the risk of small injuries in and around the pool.
  • Design needs: Even the best pools can use a retouching once in a while. If you didn’t get the dream pool you wanted on the first try, moved into a home with a pool already in place, or have a bit more in your budget to get creative with design, the months leading up to summer offer you the perfect time to make your design dreams a reality. Many believe they’re stuck with the pool layout they have, but this just isn’t true—don’t be afraid to add a wet shelf, moving water feature, or other addition that can serve as a real “wow” factor in your backyard.

What we really want our pool clients to know is that if you’re not happy with an aspect of your pool, change it! So many pool owners think what they have is what they’re going to have to live with if it doesn’t live up to their expectations, but we can help you make a pool that is truly yours… even if it’s not built from scratch.
