Diving In: A New Kind of Easter Egg Hunt

Diving In: A New Kind of Easter Egg Hunt

Easter is finally upon us—and if you’re looking for ways to switch up your traditional egg hunt, we’ve got just the thing. Why not bring it into the water?

Take a look below as we explore the best ways to pull off a pool-style Easter egg hunt!

Create a kiddie pool “basket”

Are you throwing an Easter Sunday pool party? Greet family and friends with a truly larger-than-life Easter basket—made out of a kiddie pool!

Fill your pool with fake grass and lots of goodies like chocolate treats and marshmallow Peeps, as well as party favors fitting for a day in the pool: goggles, snorkel masks, toss-in toys, and more. Create a “handle” for your basket by using a large hula hoop and attaching it to the pool.

The end result? Something that everyone in attendance can be “wowed” by before choosing a toy and jumping right in!

Toss in eggs with a twist

Finally, the fun part—the egg hunt! Kids will love this unique twist on the Easter Sunday tradition. You can make it special by filling your pool with plastic, closeable eggs that can be collected by swimmers with poolside baskets. Wondering how to dish out prizes? You can include small figures in several of the eggs as simple surprises, or you can assign prizes to corresponding egg colors (for example, for every purple egg a swimmer finds, they might receive a quarter or a purple candy treat once they’re back on dry land).

Bunny-fy kids’ goggles

For swimmers who want to dive in with style this Easter, whip up a batch of bunny ears to attach to everyone’s goggles! While the ears may wilt in the water, it’s a simple way to brighten up your patio and add a sense of fun to your springtime gathering.

Few things say “Florida” quite like taking a traditional holiday to the swimming pool—but for families who have spent Thanksgiving, Christmas, and just about every holiday by the water, this is but a natural next step! Happy Easter from all of us here at Extreme Pools.
